In 2019, Bayan University unveiled the bold and innovative 25-year Master Plan, which outlined the development of a new cutting edge campus, sustainable, and attractive learning environment. The master plan is the physical realisation of the university’s strategic vision: becoming a model student-centred, urban public research university of the 21st century. The plan calls for new buildings, landscapes, circulation corridors, and utilities. The recommendations in the plan serve as a flexible blueprint and framework for campus infrastructure and landscape that reflects BNU’s highest academic ambitions, its urban mission, and its commitment to enhancing the student experience and improving connections with its open space.
Following the development of the plan, the university has implemented a number of transformative projects which improved teaching, student life, research, and the physical environment. Completed Master Plan project include:
- Integrated Campus
- Science Building
- New laboratories
- Enabled Paperless Infrastructure, e-Smart Campus
- University Residence
- Parks
- Sport facilities
- Open Spaces
- Bike access
The ongoing development of the campus will start fall 2019. The Office of Board of Trustees seeks and welcomes the input and feedback from the many constituents – from students, academics and admin staff to alumni, friends, neighbours, and visitors who contribute to the university’s success. This is central to the planning process. As we begin to implement the campus master plan, we invite you to review work accomplished and to take an active role in project planning and implementation by attending open meetings, meeting with the campus master planning team, or by offering comments, feedback, or questions via info@bnu.edu.iq.
