On Wednesday 7/4/2021, our university participated in the activities of first day of the virtual session (53) through the ZOOM program of the General Conference of the Union of Arab Universities, on behalf of Dr. Fuad Mawlood Shareef, President of the University. It was held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Prince Muhammad bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz University in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which is the university hosting this virtual session.
At the opening session of the conference, speeches were delivered by: His Excellency the President of the host university, His Excellency the President of Helwan University (in Egypt), the President of the 52nd session of the General Conference, His Excellency the Secretary General of the Association of Arab Universities, His Royal Highness, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Prince Muhammad bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz University, and His Excellency the Secretary General of the League of Arab States.
Then the first session of the conference began, which included a presentation on the Arab university classification project in cooperation with the League of Arab States and the Arab Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALESCO). The first classification of Arab universities is scheduled to be issued at the end of this year (2021), based on three axes; Scientific research, teaching and learning, and local and international participation. This session also witnessed presentations on: the project of documenting university degrees and protecting them from forgery, the periodicals platform, the Arab-European Network for University Leadership Training (ARELEN), the Association of Arab Universities Agreement with Coursera, and the educational material towards the future.
After that, the second session began. This session witnessed individual meetings of three committees: The Scientific and Cultural Committee, the Finance Committee, and the Membership Committee.
The activities of the first day of this conference lasted about four and a quarter hours.
The closing session of the conference will be held on Thursday 4/8/2021.
It is worth noting that the Federation of Arab Universities includes about (400) universities from (22) countries..
