The Department of International Relations and Diplomacy organized the second virtual international workshop entitled (Turkey and Iran .. Different Policies and Visions towards the Middle East Region)  

bnuIn a series of virtual workshops held by Bayan University / Kurdistan Region .. The Department of International Relations and Diplomacy held the second virtual international workshop that was titled (Turkey and Iran, Different Policies and Visions towards the Middle East Region) on Monday, corresponding to the 13th of July 2020 In the presence of the President of Bayan University, Dr. Fouad Mawloud Sharif, a number of department heads at Bayan University, members of the teaching staff in the scientific departments of the university and a number of specialists and researchers from outside the university.
 The workshop was opened with a welcome speech to the President of the University, Dr. Fouad Mawloud Sharif, then the workshop started its work through The lecturers' participation in presenting their researches as follows: 1- Teacher Dr. Ali Bashar Agwan (member of the teaching staff in the Department of International and Diplomatic Relations) by presenting his axis (Turkey’s role in the Middle East region) and through which a historical presentation was made to Turkey from the period of the fall of the Ottoman Empire until The establishment of Turkey as a nation on the basis of nationalism led by Kemal Ataturk .. The researcher presented the most important elements of the power that Turkey has since its establishment and which it was able to employ according to its best interests Attribution; Turkey is a country that possesses the elements of strength and success that qualified it to be an effective regional power in which it surpassed its neighbors from the countries of the Middle East region. Therefore, it was able to employ these elements on the ground in light of the apparent absence of power by the forces of the region, which made the extension of its influence easy, the clear international absence to block the influence of its power.
2- The second axis presented by (Researcher in National Security Affairs and Iranian Studies Professor Firas Muhammad Elias) and his research was on (Iranian Strategies towards the Middle East Region) The researcher began his presentation of the historical facts on the basis of which the Iranian strategic vision towards Iraq and the region has been formed since 1979 until the present time The researcher's vision included the most important substantive issues that the Iranian government was able to exploit in order to extend its influence and the success of its policies in the region, which was helped by the weakness of the political and military strength of the ruling regimes in the Middle East region. The workshop included a number of valuable discussions and interventions that further enriched the workshop scientifically. The attendees also presented a number of valuable questions that the researchers answered objectively and give a future vision of what the area’s conditions can lead to in the absence of confronting the strategies of these forces. 
By the end of the workshop, the President of the University, Dr. Fouad Mouloud Sharif, had a word of thanks to the organization, management and researchers of the workshop. The workshop was successfully managed by Dr. Alaa Bahaa Omar, faculty member at the Faculty of Law and International Relations, thank you.
