How students are assessed, how papers are marked, and how results are released.
Assessment at Bayan combines continuous coursework with formal examinations. The weighting of the two is set per course and published in the course description at the start of the semester, so a student knows before the first class how the final mark will be reached.
Examination papers are marked against a published scheme. A sample of every cohort is second-marked to check that the scheme has been applied consistently, and boundary cases are reviewed before results are confirmed.
Results are released through the Registrar's Office once the examination board has met. A student who believes a mark is wrong may ask for it to be checked within the window given in the study regulations.
