Careers
Supervised work experience that counts towards the degree.
Several programmes include a placement, and every programme allows one to be arranged. A placement is only recognised if it is agreed in advance: the department has to be satisfied that the work is relevant, supervised, and safe, and that the hours fit around teaching.
The student, the employer and the department each hold a copy of the agreement, which states what the student will do, who supervises on site, and how the placement is assessed.
Bring an intended placement to the Career Development Centre before it starts. Work done without an agreement in place cannot be credited afterwards.
