Study regulations are the written rules a student is held to and can hold the university to. They cover attendance requirements, how marks are calculated and weighted, what counts as a pass, when a resit is available, and the grounds on which a decision may be appealed.
They also set out academic integrity: what plagiarism is, how it is detected, and the penalties that follow a finding.
Regulations are approved by the University Council and apply from the academic year stated on the document. A student is assessed under the regulations in force when they enrolled, unless a later change is expressly made retrospective in their favour.
