Student feedback and class observation, and what is done with them.
Teaching is looked at from two directions. Students complete an evaluation of each course near the end of the semester, and a colleague observes a class against a shared, published schedule of what good teaching looks like here.
Student responses are anonymous and are not released to the teacher until after marks are submitted, so that neither side can influence the other.
Both feed the same conversation: the department discusses the results with the teacher, agrees what changes, and records it. Where a pattern persists across semesters, the quality office takes it up at programme level rather than leaving it with one person.
