What accreditation means for a Bayan degree, how the university maintains academic quality, and how to request written verification.
Accreditation is what makes a qualification mean something to a person who was not in the room when it was earned. This page explains what it covers, how Bayan approaches quality, and how to obtain verification in writing.
What recognition does for your degree
- An employer can treat the qualification as evidence of what you studied and at what level
- Another university can consider it when you apply for further study, at home or abroad
- A public authority can accept it where entry to a profession is regulated
Two different things are called accreditation
Institutional recognition
Whether the university itself is recognised by the public authority responsible for higher education where it operates. This is a question of legal standing, and it is settled by official record — not by a claim on a website.
Programme review
Whether a particular programme has been examined against a published standard by a reviewer outside the department that teaches it. This is about the quality of one course of study, and it is renewed periodically rather than granted once.
How Bayan approaches quality
Whatever external review a programme is subject to, the work that has to hold up is internal and continuous:
- Study regulations written and published before they are applied
- Course descriptions that state aims, content and the weighting of assessment at the start of the semester
- Marking against a published scheme, with moderation of a sample of every cohort
- Student feedback collected each semester, with the response reported back
- Periodic review of each programme against what graduates are actually asked to do
Why this page names no body
A recognition is worth exactly what the document behind it says, on the date it says it. A logo on a web page is not that document, and a list of names invites a reader to assume more than the record supports. So Bayan answers verification requests against the record instead of asserting a status here.
Requesting verification
- Say who you are and why you need it — employer, university, public authority, or the graduate.
- Give the name exactly as registered, the programme, and the year of award.
- Include the graduate's written consent if you are not the graduate.
- Send the request through Contact, marked for the Registrar's Office.
The reply comes from the office that holds the record. Any document the university publishes for this purpose appears under Documents.
